Itinerary:

Join the Rocky Mountain Section for a self-guided weekend away at The Stanley Mitchell hut. This is an historic log cabin ideally located in a beautiful meadow, surrounded by glaciers and peaks. It is a hiking and mountaineering paradise.

Dates are Friday August 26 to Monday August 29th.

Approach is the direct route from Laughing Falls, or via the scenic Ice Line trail. Many people make a loop by hiking in one way, and exiting via the other. Day hikes include Whaleback Ridge, Twin Falls, Kiwetinok Lake and Lake Celeste. Summits include Mts Kerr, Kiwetinok, Pollinger, McArther, Isolated, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President and The President.

Sleeping is dorm style upstairs, with a small trip leader room on the main floor. Double outhouse. Current covid and vaccination protocols will be followed.

This is a self-catered trip, with shared dinner meals. We will be grouping daily parties based on self-guided objectives.

Please contact trip leader AlisenDopf@gmail.com for an application.

Current covid and vaccination protocols will be followed.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
