Golden
Alpine Holidays Sentry Lodge – March 3-10 2023 (12 participants) $1860 deposit $740: Sentry is the one that everybody
wants. This lodge is already booked solid until the end of the 2026 season.
Fortunately, the Rocky Mountain Section snagged this prime March week by
booking it three years ago. 12 lucky members will get to ski the superb
terrain, and then enjoy the sauna, hot & cold running water, A/C power and
the luxury accommodations that this lodge provides. Situated at 2100m in the
Esplanade Range, Sentry Lodge has it all – peaks, alpine terrain, glades =
everything we need for a great ski week. This is the newest and most luxurious
of the 4 Golden Alpine Holidays lodges. The camp runs Saturday to Saturday and will be staging out of a site
just north of Golden, which means that you don’t have to drive very far.
Contact camp manager Jackie Clark at clarkjl@shaw.ca for more details.
Payment Options:
Coordinator $1060.00 CAD
Member $1760.00 CAD
All RMS ski camps are self catered and
self guided. AST2 or equivalent experience is required. We will continue our
RMS practices which include an avi scenario upon arrival at the lodge. As well
each participant is expected to perform personal snow assessments each day and actively
participate in daily group risk assessment discussions. Copies of our daily
assessment worksheets are available on the camps page of the section website
and from the individual camp managers. They are a modified version of the ACMG
morning guides worksheet, adapted for the RMS by the CAA.
Covid has added requirements for
participants, including proof that you are fully COVID vaccinated and completion
of a “Declaration of Health”. Other COVID requirements, such as negative rapid
tests, may be required. As Federal and Provincial health regulations continue
to change, we will need to be flexible to accommodate them.
If a trip gets cancelled or delayed
after participants have paid, the financial impact varies depending on the
lodge, but basically you should expect that any funds you have paid are likely
non-refundable. If you have to cancel a trip after paying, the camp managers
will make every possible attempt to find a qualified replacement who will
refund your payment. Please consider seeking cancellation insurance.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
