Join the ACC Rocky Mountain Section for an evening with Nicki Rehn and Claire Perks as they share stories and photos from their recent trip into the Bhutanese Himalaya to compete at the world's highest ultramarathon.
Invited by the King of Bhutan to run "The Snowman Race", a 5-day 200 km journey along an ancient trade route, across seven high passes, and through some of the worlds most remote villages. It was a race with a purpose: to bring awareness to the impacts of climate change on this tiny but important region of the world.
Find out what they learned about the beautiful people who live with the constant threat of melting glaciers, and what it was like to race above 18,000 feet and meet a king.
