Monday: Drive to Jasper, afternoon cragging somewhere (Kerkeslin or Lost Boys most likely)
Tuesday/Wednesday:
Climb! TBD depending on leaders. I will be aiming for multipitches in
the 5.6-5.8 range, most likely in the Hidden Valley area.
Thursday: Drive back to Canmore/Calgary, probably climb something along the way.
I
can take 2 people climbing with me, and if another person joins who
can also lead a rope team we can expand the team up to as high as 6.
If
you are interested to join, please send me an email with your relevant
climbing experience, and whether you are looking to lead or second.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Frontcountry camping stuff, climbing stuff. Details to be discussed with participants.
How to Get There:
Event Directions:
Let's go climbing in Jasper!
I
have booked two frontcountry campsites (Wabasso campground), from which
we can base our climbing adventures in Jasper. Depending on how many
people attend, camping cost will be around $75 per person for 3 nights,
but will depend on how many people we have.
Carpool Departure Time:
08:30 AM
Carpool Location:
TBD
Notes:
I am looking for a co-leader for this trip who is keen to help organize and/or lead a rope team.
If weather/smoke are horrible, we'll cancel the trip and refund camping
fees. If conditions are marginal, we'll give it a go and see what we
can get done. If you pay and then bail, you are on the hook for camping
fees unless we find a replacement.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
