How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Alan Kane describes the Observation Peak scramble in his book Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies. While the scramble is described as an easy/moderate one, there are hazards on this trip (rockfall, trips, slips, falls being the main ones)

Participants must be comfortable with 1100 meters of elevation in a day, be sure footed on steep scree up and down, be comfortable with mild/moderate exposure and have good level of fitness.

This event has a pre-screening process. If we have not scrambled together before, please add your name to the wait list and expect to receive a questionnaire to fill out.

Carpool Departure Time:   06:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Banff/ Norquay turnoff, Juniper hotel road.

Notes:

We will start this day at the carpool meeting location where we will sign waivers and have a discussion about the day. While we have an objective on our radar and will work toward reaching the summit, the ultimate goal for the day is to have a fun, safe, fantastic day together in the mountains.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
