Itinerary:

Details TBC, but most likley meet up in central Canmore, leave at least 1 vehicle there, drive up to Goat Creek - ski to Banff, then hop in a vehicle (need to coordinate a vehicle drop in Banff) and return to Canmore. Aiming to complete the 19km in about 2.5 hours (average about 8km/hour on classic skis).

Required Items to Bring:

cross-country skis, poles, boots

wax/cork (if required)

warm layers

headlamp with fresh batteries, plus spares

food & water, tea

FA kit (personal blister kit)



Recommended Items to Bring:

extra FA kit

extra comms device (Garmin InReach, Spot)

Notes:

Please send an email to laraguenette@gmail.com with a summary of your cross country ski experience, ski ability (beginner/intermediate/advanced) in variable conditions, and relevant training (e.g. First Aid). Also, are you able to help with car shuttling on Jan 25 (around 4-430pm).




*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
