We will meet in front of the Nordic Centre Day Lodge at 6:15pm and then have fun on an orienteering course that will be approximately 2 to 3 km long.
This is a great opportunity to try orienteering or practice map reading skills. We will be walking, the goal is for a fun evening. Maps will be provided. There is no need to have attended a previous orienteering event.
This week we will do a different course in smaller groups, it will be beginner friendly.
A basic compass is required, the compass is only used to orientate the map. I have spare compasses if required.
The orienteering will finish around 8pm and they we will go to the Bill Warren Training Centre for Pub Night. The BWTC serves pizza on pub night.
Required Items to Bring:
Compass. Bear spray.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Water
Notes:
A Kananaskis pass is required to park at the Nordic Centre, if you don't have one and would like a ride, then please contact Richard.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
