Itinerary:

Due to its high elevation, Burstall Pass gets snow before anywhere else in the Bow Valley. You can get out and ski at Burstall Pass before most other places.

You can find details on the tour in Summits and Icefields.

This is a beginner-friendly trip, so if you are new to backcountry skiing this is a good trip for you.

The day's goal will be two-fold: first, check out our gear, remember how to put skins on, determine what is missing from our daypacks, etc; second, find some turns in the Pass.

Required Items to Bring:

Skis, Boots, Climbing Skins, Poles, Beacon, Shovel, Probe, Winter Clothes, Food, Water.

If you have rock skis, I would suggest you bring them.

Recommended Items to Bring:

Anything you feel will make your day more enjoyable.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   From Canmore, you drive up the Smith Dorrien to get to Burstall Pass.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
