Take your climbing to the next level with this immersive two-day course designed for climbers looking to build confidence and competence in multipitch systems and rock rescue techniques. This course blends technical skills with practical application.
Day 1: Multipitch Systems & Efficiency
On the first day, we focus on the skills and systems needed to safely and efficiently climb multipitch routes. Participants will learn how to manage rope systems, build anchors, transition at belay stations, communicate effectively, and problem-solve common challenges encountered on route.

Rappelling and descent systems for multipitch terrain

Day 2: Multipitch Rock Rescue
The second day is dedicated to developing rescue skills specific to multipitch climbing. You'll work through realistic scenarios designed to help you respond calmly and effectively in high-stakes situations.
Key Topics:
Equipment strengths and limitations, preparation and decision making in the context of a rescue.
Escaping the belay
Raising and lowering systems
Managing an injured or stuck second
Who It’s For: This course is ideal for experienced single-pitch climbers who are ready to progress into the world of multipitch climbing. Participants should be comfortable lead belaying.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, shoes, harness, belay device, hallow block/prusik, personal anchor system.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Water, food for the day.

Once you sign up you will be put on the waitlist until payment for the course is received. Please etransfer treasurer.accrms@gmail.com the full course amount to ensure your spot.
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
