Itinerary:

Depending on avalanche conditions we will ski either on the 93 South, 93 North or on Highway 1 between Banff and Lake Louise. At the moment, the avalanche forecast looks considerable, so we will likely be skiing below treeline. If conditions remain considerable or high, we will tour out in simple cross-country skiing terrain - we will ski whatever will go on the day. Some options are: Redearth Creek to Picnic Site or Shadow Lake Lodge, Tower Lake, Goat Creek from Canmore to Banff with car shuttle, Dog Lake, Johnson Creek to Ink Pots, Simpson River to Park Boundary, Baker Creek, Crowfoot Glades. Elevation gain will be in the range of 150m-760m. Distance will be in the range of 6km-15km. This trip is suitable for novice/intermediate skiers. Skiing will be at a moderate pace.

When signing up, please email the trip leader at mail@spolt.ca stating your ski touring experience level and current fitness level so that we can choose a trip that fits everyone in our group.
