Ski up road Visit Lake Return

Required Items to Bring: |
Minimum 35 liter pack. Metal edged skis. Road will be rough from skiers, snowshoers and walkers. Rentals OK Avalanche beacon, probe and shovel; if do not have recommend borrowing from friend; rentals good.. Majority of skiers, etc do not take avalanche gear on this trip. Parks trail review used to say four avalanche tracks that rarely reach road; changed when avalanche reached road. Potential is very low but never zero. We will review use of gear so when you take AST 1 you will have some idea. Good mid layer. Skins for skis.

Notes: |
This trip is to introduce skiers to backcountry. Backcountry skiing is very expensive so will discuss gear (I have 9 pair of skis), costs, etc. Will show some avalanche tracks and tell stories. You will get to experience a big backcountry day so know if this is for you.

Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
