Itinerary:

Meet at parking lot 5:15 and depart lot at 5:30 PM.

Walk 1.6 km along old logging cut block (estimated 25 minutes).

There is a stream crossing 100 ft from parking with no bridge. 1 ft deep - plan to ford.

Crag has 21 routes ranging from 5.4-5.9 with 8 trad routes (the remainder are sport).

Good place to practice trad leads, but no experience with trad necessary to attend.

Routes are shorter ranging from 12-22m, but good climbing in a scenic spot.

To those I have yet to meet, you can find me wearing a  black ball cap with a bright red backpack.

*Beginners welcome but you must have passed the EP belay test (top rope only ok).

New to climbing but don’t know how to get started? Take the “Learn the Ropes” program at EP, pass your belay test and come join us!

Required Items to Bring:

*Participants must have their own shoes, harness and belay device.

*Those who have them please bring PAS, draws, anchor.

*I only have one personal rope. Highly recommended if you want to climb that you bring a rope if you have one. :-)

Recommended Items to Bring:

Layers, snacks, water, bear spray, rain jacket, hiking pole.

I saw a pack rat at the base, so if you bring food consider hanging your pack in a nearby tree.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:
Head south on HWY40 past the Casino and turn left onto HWY68 (Sibbald Creek Trail).Park at pull out on south side of HWY68. Space for 3-4 vehicles, so park on road shoulder if full.

Notes:

Event is weather dependent, and Elevation Place indoor climbing is the backup. If the weather does not appear favorable, I will send an email by 4:00 PM to indicate a change to the backup location.

Anyone who does not unregister themselves or notify me of their change in plans by 17:00 will be marked as “no show.”
