With each photo please include:

Your name

An interesting name or title of your photo

The category you are entering

***If you are submitting to the Section Trips category, please include in the description the RMS trip you attended and the date.

Categories:

There are 7 categories in which you can enter your photos:

Climbing – alpine, ice and rock

Culture and Humour

Flora, Fauna and Environs –  flowers, plants, trees, wildlife and rocks

Hiking and Scrambling – non-technical that is free of gear

Scenery –  landscapes, golden hour light

Skiing – skiing away from the lifts

Section Trips – photos that show the friendliness of a RMS trip or camp with at least 1 club member in the photo

Many chances to win! All category winners will receive a prize and the grand prize will be chosen from the category winners.

Contest Rules & Guidelines

Contest is open to all section members who are in good standing

Professional photographers are NOT eligible to enter the contest if ALL of the following conditions apply:

sold a photo for more than $100.00

sold more than 3 photos

sold a photo within the last 5 years

All entries must have been taken in an alpine environment during hiking, climbing, skiing, scrambling or backpacking trips

All entries must be digital photographs (including digitally scanned prints and negatives)

A maximum of 10 entries total per photographer

All entries must have a minimum digital resolution of 1024x768 pixels

Minor post-processing is allowed, including sharpening, removing dusts spots, cropping and minor adjustments to exposure, saturation, white balance and contrast. Significant processing (including cloning and compositing) is not allowed. AI generated or AI enhanced photos are not allowed.

Bring your smile and cash or credit card to pay for food and drink.


Notes:

The RMS annual general meeting will take place prior to the presentation of winning photos. 




Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Waiver and Membership Requirement
Participation in this activity is subject to you having a current membership and a current signed ACC Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks Agreement (the “Waiver”), which is signed in conjunction with purchasing/renewing your membership.

A separate Waiver is not required. Your membership Waiver in place at the time of the activity will apply to your participation in this activity. You can review your completed waiver by logging onto your profile at alpineclubofcanada.ca. If your membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity. By proceeding with the booking, you agree to the foregoing waiver terms. Bookings without a current Waiver at the time of the activity will be cancelled.

The Waiver is a legal document by which you waive or give up the right to sue or claim compensation following an accident. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY! You can review your completed waiver by logging onto your profile at alpineclubofcanada.ca.
