Itinerary:

Refresh you AST knowledge and skills with our Companion Rescue 1 day refresher course. We'll review your existing knowledge and assess the what changes have been made to techniques that you need to know.  Felix Camire, ACMG guide will be leading this course.  He's personally (re) doing the AvSAR course on Dec 13 to 16, so the course is good timing for participants as he will have just finished training with the latest and greatest on rescue.  $100.00pp or $50.00 for trip leaders.

Required Items to Bring:

We will not be travelling very far, so people could come with snow boots and snowshoes to stay warmer. People will need their transceivers, probe shovel, warm clothes, warm drinks and be ready to spend the whole day outside. Hopefully it won't be too cold... Regarding pre-requisite, it is a refresher course, so previous experience through a RAC or AST course should be a minimum. We could look at an exception, if required, but it is not an introductory course.

Notes:

Payment Options:
  • Coordinator $50.00 CAD
  • Member $100.00 CAD

No partial attendance allowed.  All registrants need to register via calendar.  Trip leaders will have their amount $50.00 refunded.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Rocky Mountain Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
